Paper Abstract:

This paper discusses the findings of a study that explored the use of information technology and especially the broadband
Internet connection in the homes from the point of view of the users and everyday life. This paper concentrates on the
people and on their experiences as the users of technologies and as significance makers. The research material consists of
semi-structured consumer interviews that were conducted in February-March in Finland in the area of Pori in 2006.The
Internet has become more and more in homes and partly the use habits of the computer with quick broadband
connections. The quicker network connections have added and diversified the use of the Internet. In my study I go
through these changes in the use of an information technology and matters which are related to the interaction of the
consumers and technology. |
